TOOLS FOR THOUGHT draws on the will of artists to make a difference. In the spirit of Marcel Duchamp and the readymade, the efforts of Tools for Thought unite the art community in using its greatest tools ready-at-hand: the generosity and goodwill to provide aid and support to those in need.
TOOLS FOR THOUGHT takes an inspired approach to specific projects and areas of need, developing creative partnerships to the cause of social good and positive construction. Formed in the wake of the devastating earthquake in Haiti in January 2010 that left hundreds of thousands dead and millions displaced, co-founders Diana Campbell and Julie Ragolia set out to rally the art world to join together and help rebuild a broken country. Tools for Thought came to exist because of the eagerness of artists, gallerists, curators, and luminaries to contribute their resources and spirit to the greater good. Tools for Thought then grew as a continual link, bridging the art world’s will to support with its ability to make a difference. The efforts of Tools for Thought take the form of curated events, auctions, and creative public projects that elevate spirit, generate popular interest and education, and raise financial resources to further rebuilding and renewal, one project or region at a time.
